Hudco Housing Masterplan
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Developed in collaboration with Housing and Urban Development Corporation of India (HUDCO), this award-winning housing masterplan by KC Studio reimagines the idea of inclusive community living. The project blends traditional Indian planning wisdom with contemporary urban design to create a cohesive “city within a city,” rooted in the values of community, culture, and connectivity
The masterplan emphasizes strong spatial identity and interconnected public realms where housing, shared amenities, and cultural spaces come together to support everyday life.
Recognized for its innovative approach to inclusive planning and contextual design, the concept was honoured at National Association of Students of Architecture (NASA) and formally acknowledged by the Government of India.

- Project Challenge
The challenge was to develop a housing masterplan that could address the growing need for inclusive urban communities while preserving cultural identity and social interaction. The project required balancing contemporary urban development with traditional Indian planning principles to create a cohesive and community-oriented environment.

The masterplan integrated traditional settlement ideas with modern urban planning to create a “city within a city.” Housing clusters, public spaces, and shared amenities were carefully interconnected to encourage walkability, social interaction, and a strong sense of community while maintaining a clear spatial identity.
- Project Outcome
The result is a forward-thinking housing concept that promotes inclusive living and cultural continuity within an urban framework. The project’s innovative approach to community planning earned recognition at the National Association of Students of Architecture (NASA) and was formally acknowledged by the Government of India for its contribution to inclusive and context-sensitive urban design.
“Wasl Tower, a 64-storey mixed-use establishment situated prominently along Sheikh Zayed Road, stands as a testament to architectural finesse and functional versatility. Embracing a multifaceted it accommodates residential apartments, office spaces, restaurants, and a luxurious hotel within its towering structure. The tower stands tall at 302 meters with a substantial footprint covering 167,733 square meters.”
